Soprano

About
Hailing from Missoula, Montana, Italian-American soprano Madeline (Maddy) Braun is a young performer with dynamism across genres. She is equally comfortable performing in opera roles as she is in musical theater and straight theatre, with the energy and charm to have an eye-catching stage presence regardless of the role. Madeline is currently pursuing a Master of Music in Vocal Arts at the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music, where she studies with professor Lynn Helding. Upcoming roles include Flora in Britten’s Turn of the Screw (USC Thornton) and Marian Paroo in Meredith Wilson's The Music Man (Fort Peck Summer Theatre). Madeline appeared this spring in a workshop of Starsinger in collaboration with the GRAMMY-nominated Beth Morrison Projects. Recent professional engagements include opera chorus with Pacific Opera Project; two summers in residence at the College Light Opera Company in Cape Cod, MA; and mainstage roles at the Oregon Contemporary Theatre in Eugene, OR. Favorite roles include Claire in Bernstein’s On The Town, Rose Maybud in Gilbert and Sullivan’s Ruddigore, Venus in Offenbach’s Orpheus in the Underworld, and Marianne in Romberg’s The New Moon. Madeline holds a BA from Oregon State University, where she studied with soprano Amy Hansen.
